La Fondation Kamel Lazaar et l’Institut français de Tunisie organisent « Jaou Photo », du 6 au 20 octobre 2022 à Tunis, avec une ouverture sur d’autres régions de la Tunisie avec Sfax et Sousse. Près de 160 photographes et artistes de plus de 45 pays prendront part à Jaou Photo qui se tiendra dans plus de 15 espaces, avec le soutien de partenaires tunisiens et étrangers.
« Jaou Photo », c’est plusieurs expositions, des rencontres professionnelles et un symposium international avec, en parallèle, une programmation artistique pluridisciplinaire (musique, danse, théâtre, cinéma, etc.). Cette édition se concentre sur la photographie, avec pour thème « Le corps dans tous ces états ».
"Jaou Photo" entrusted the curatorship to :
- Kader Attia, artist and winner of the Marcel Duchamp Prize in 2016. He is the current curator of the 12th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art.
- Olfa Feki, architect, curator and artistic director/founder of "#Kerkennah visual art festival". She was project director of the Something Else Cairo biennial and curator of the 2nd edition of the biennial of contemporary photographers from the Arab world in Paris.
- Simon Njami, curator, writer, essayist and philosopher. Among his numerous exhibitions and artistic directions, we can mention the 2016 and 2018 editions of Dak'Art, as well as the Rencontres photographiques de Bamako of which he was the director for ten years.
Près de 300 étudiants des écoles des Beaux-Arts en Tunisie seront invités à assister aux différentes manifestations prévues, et ce dans l’idée de mobiliser la jeunesse.
Les œuvres de plus d’une centaine d’artistes tunisiens et internationaux investiront l’espace public dans la ville de Tunis (avenue Habib Bourguiba, le B7L9, les anciennes imprimeries Cérès, l’ancienne bourse du travail, l’Institut français de Tunisie, …).
