President Abdel Fattah El-Sissi wanted the entrance to the Great Egyptian Museum to reflect the uniqueness of ancient Egyptian civilisation. Visitors will be greeted by a spectacular wall of hieroglyphs, representing the names of ancient Egyptian kings and queens.
The Great Egyptian Museum will host over 50,000 artefacts, including all of King Tutankhamun's personal possessions.
The museum, which is currently under construction, is located just two kilometres from the pyramid complex at Giza and covers an area of approximately 500,000 square metres.
