The idea of the series started by an impromptu meeting between director Sarah Fartaoui and Emmanuelle Sikyurek, owner of a second-hand shop in Paris. A few months later, the scenario of "La Suite, La Parodie" was written. The idea is simple: to laugh around different characters, customers and salespeople in Emmanuelle's shop. With its 1980s jingle and offbeat dialogue, "La Suite La Parodie" reminds us of comedy television series "Caméra Café".
Sarah Fartaoui is a young French-Moroccan director who works in the audiovisual sector for high-profile programmes. She got behind the camera when starting shooting documentaries, thus combining her passion for movies with art history. With "La Suite La Parodie", Sarah Fartaoui tackles fiction. She plays with clichés and stereotypes, her multiculturalism and humour allowing her to deconstruct them with acuteness. She is currently writing her first feature film.
