Katara Prize for Arabic Fiction: Abdelhamid Benhedouga is nominated "person of the year".

On the occasion of the Kضtara Prize, an exhibit will pay tribute to him.

Considered one of the founders of the Algerian novel in Arabic, Benhedouga has published several novels, the most famous of which “The wind of the South” (1971) was adapted for the cinema.

The competition celebrates, since its 2nd edition in 2016, an Arab writer. The first tribute was paid to Egyptian novelist Naguib Mahfouz.
