Kareem Shuhaibar shares his mother Josleen's recipes on his Instagram page, which is followed by over 75,700 people.
He launched this project in response to the Covid-19 pandemic: "I was living in London and the city was completely closed off. I was tired of eating pizzas, hamburgers and fast food, and I missed the flavour and warmth of my mother's food. The comfort we all needed at that moment. So I called her up and asked her "how do you make loubieh bzeit"? She sent me a recipe by voice message on WhatsApp from Kuwait. Admittedly, it took 45 minutes, but I managed to make the dish, and it was tasty. My friends in London heard it and were fascinated." - quoted in L'Orient-le-Jour.
