Lyon: South Film Festival

This 21st edition of the festival will take place from 9 to 10 July and will feature nine films from the Arab world, more specifically from Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Syria, Lebanon and Sudan.

The screenings will be introduced by Abdellah Zerguine, artistic director, and Michel Amarger, journalist and film critic at Média France.

The films screened are the following:

  • "Abou Leila" by Amin Sidi-Boumédiène (Algeria)
  • "Luxor" by Zeina Durra (Egypt)
  • "Zanka Contact" by Ismaël El Iraki (Morocco)
  • "The Translator" by Anas Khalaf and Rana Kazkaz
    (Syria)
  • "1982" by Oualid Mouaness (Lebanon)
  • "You will die at 20" by Amjad Abu Alala (Sudan).
