May and Raya Mamarbachi, co-founders of the Artscoops platform, collaborated on this exhibition with Janet Rady, a contemporary art specialist from Cromwell Place in London's South Kensington district. The event showcases the different currents of modern and contemporary Lebanese art until 11 June. It is the largest exhibition of its kind in the English capital.
Among the artists on show are Bibi Zogbé, Aref el-Rayess, Nadia Saikali, Willy Aractingi, Huguette Caland, Etel Adnan, Helen Khal, Hiba Kalach, ...
Artscoops was founded in 2015 with a mission to further foster the growth of the art market in the Middle East and North Africa, and to make art from the region more accessible to collectors worldwide. "With the rise of the digital art market, Artscoops was the first online auction house dedicated specifically to art from the MENA region. Artscoops works with a network of galleries and collectors to identify and offer a wide range of traditional and contemporary artworks. Today, we felt it was important to design a physical event that is above all our first exhibition outside Lebanon, a sort of showcase for Lebanese art in London." - Co-founders May and Raya Mamarbachi.
