The French Institute of Tunisia and the National Institute of Heritage present new book "Rouga I: The forum and its surroundings (excavations 1971-1974)", on September 23.

Awaited by the scientific community and lovers of Tunisian archeology, the publication of the excavations carried out by a Tunisian French team between 1971 and 1974 in the ancient city of Bararus (Henchir Rougga) finally came out.

Located 12 km south-east of Thysdrus (El Jem), this site is best known for its large Roman cisterns and for the discovery of a treasure of Byzantine gold coins. This book brought together researchers from the National Heritage Institute and the Universities of Sfax and Sousse and Aix-Marseille University.

The book is edited by Hédi Slim and Maurice Euzennat.
