The finalists of the Orange Book Prize in Africa 2023

The list of finalists for this fifth edition is as follows

  • Lamine Benallou for "The multiple lives of Adam" (Algeria)
  • Ibrahima Hane for "Les dieux de la brousse ne sont pas invulnérables" (Senegal)
  • Anzata Ouatara for "Safora, a life of tribulations" (Ivory Coast)
  • Michèle Rakotoson for "Ambatomanga" (Madagascar)
  • Béchir Garbouj for "La nuit du doute" (Tunisia).

Organised by the Orange Foundation with the support of the French Institute, the Orange Prize for Books in Africa rewards a novel written in French by an African writer and published by an African publishing house.

The announcement of the winner will take place during the 13th International Book Fair in Abidjan, from 9 to 13 May.
