The United States returned 77 looted antiquities to Yemen

The announcement was done jointly by the US Attorney's Office, the Department of Homeland Security, the State Department, and the Smithsonian Institution, which includes nearly 20 museums in the US.

The list of looted antiquities reportedly includes "64 carved stone heads, 11 handwritten pages of the Qur'an, an engraved bronze bowl, and a funerary stele from the Ma'în or Minoan tribal cultures of the northwestern highlands of Yemen, dating from the 1st century BC" - to quote New York federal prosecutor Breon Peace.
