Israeli bombings destroy cultural heritage of Damascus

A few days after the earthquake of 6 February, and a few hours before a second earthquake, Israel bombed Damascus, adding to the human toll numerous damages to the city's cultural heritage. The Institute of Applied Arts, the Institute of Archaeology, the Arab Cultural Centre in Kfarsoussa, and the city's historic citadel were all severely hit by the raids.

"No confirmation or denial came from Tel Aviv after these deadly raids. A silence that is a classic modus operandi: it is rare that the army or Israeli officials make comments on the strikes carried out in Syria." (Rfi media).
