In this novel, which has already been awarded Prix Femina and Goncourt des Lycéens in France, the 48-year-old editor and journalist imagines a sibling group disrupted by the arrival of a disabled child.
There were 33 jurors representing 33 universities from 11 Middle Eastern countries: Djibouti, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Sudan and Cyprus.
The prize is organised by the Agence universitaire de la francophonie au Moyen-Orient, in partnership with the Lebanese Institut.
The winner of the prize gets a translation of his/her novel in Arabic.
