The Guggenheim Abu Dhabi invites local and international artists to create innovative pieces for its collections.

As the museum plans to open to the public in 2025, the institution's curators plan to focus on the temporary events and launch art residency programs.

The Guggenheim Abu Dhabi is expected to host important modern and contemporary artworks from West Asia, North Africa, and South Asia, presenting a collection which aims at stimulating cross-cultural exchange and collaboration.

Stephanie Rosenthal, the museum's project director, explains that while the collection has been built up over the past fifteen years, she currently wants to invite local artists and talents. This is an initiative which should start in 2024.

Located in the cultural district of Saadiyat Island, the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi will be adjacent to some of the country's most prestigious cultural institutions, from the Louvre Abu Dhabi to the future Natural History Museum, the Abrahamic Family House and the Zayed National Museum.
