For this twelfth edition of the festival which takes place from 4 to 10 February 2023, the festival will pay tribute to several personalities:
- the recently deceased Tunisian actor, Hichem Rostom ;
- the Algerian actress Chafia Boudraa, known for her roles in cult feature films such as "El Hariq" and "L'Evasion" by Hassan Terro;
- Egyptian composer, musician and actor Hesham Nazih;
- Egyptian actress Hala Sedki;
- Egyptian actor Salah Mansour.
This year's festival will be directed by Egyptian director and activist Azza El Hosseiny, with Egyptian producer and actor Mahmoud Hemida as honorary president. The festival will feature 42 films, including 12 features and 15 shorts.
