The launch of this project began at the M'hamed Bouguerra University in Boumerdès. It will soon include the wilayas of Boumerdès, Bouira, Blida, Tipasa, Tizi Ouzou, M'sila and Sétif. It aims to raise students' awareness of Algerian culture through cinema. Locally produced films will be screened in the universities.
The idea is to "establish a cultural and artistic tradition" between the culture and higher education sectors, in the words of the Minister of Culture and Arts, Soraya Mouloudji.
The launching ceremony of the project took place at the Faculty of Technology and was attended by representatives of the National Centre for Cinematography and Audiovisual, which is the main partner of this event, officials of several universities and university residences, teachers and students.
