"L'Albatros", a Tunisian-Italian play at the Théâtre de l'Opéra in Tunis

Premiering as part of the 4th edition of Sorties Théâtre, and directed by Chadli Arfaoui and Cinzia Maccagnano, the play tackles the theme of migration, characteristic of Mediterranean peoples. The performance is in two parts, the first produced by the Théâtre de l'Opéra in Tunis and the second by the Teatro Stabile in Catania.

Synopsis of the first part: There are five of them... the sixth is a small paper boat... broken by the crashing waves of the sea... There are five of them, the sixth is a boat with a dark bottom. They return from afar... Life begins again... Words flow... They speak... They dance, sing and recount the details of their adventure on the other shore. In search of the missing...

Synopsis of the second part: a disturbing actor invites those present to take part in a metaphorical race to reach the ghostly Bay of Dreams, the safe harbour to which that part of humanity forced to leave its own country in search of better living conditions has always aspired.

After Tunis, the play will travel to Italy for a second performance scheduled for 5 October.
