The mummy of Egypt's King Ramses II will soon be on display in Saudi Arabia.

The event, which coincides with the first Islamic Arts Biennale in the kingdom, is part of the travelling exhibition "Ramses the Great and the Gold of the Pharaohs" organised by the Houston Museum of Natural Sciences.

The remains of the famous pharaoh will be on display at the Hajj Terminal of King Abdelaziz International Airport in Jeddah from 23 January to 23 April.

In addition to this mummy, the exhibition will feature more than 180 Egyptian objects, including sculptures and treasures, as well as multimedia reproductions that show the richness of ancient Egyptian civilisation.

After Saudi Arabia, the exhibition will be held in Paris from 1 April to 17 September, before moving to Sydney.
