The Cairo International Book Fair, from 25 January to 6 February.

The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan will be the guest of honour in this 54th edition. Two Egyptian personalities will be honoured: firstly, the late Egyptian poet Salah Jaheen; and secondly, the Egyptian writer Kamel Kilani, who is considered to be one of the pioneers of children's literaturein the Arab world.

Inaugurated in 1969 and organised by the Egyptian General Book Organisation, the Cairo International Book Fair is one of the largest book fairs in the world and the oldest in the Arab world. It brings together hundreds of local and international booksellers. However this year, inflation complicates the organisation of the event, considering that paper price has skyrocketed in only a few months.
