Few Arab films were selected for this 2023 edition, but here are the lucky ones:
- "The Burdened" by Yemeni director Amr Gamal. The film is based on a true story set in Aden, Yemen, about a married couple and their three children in the midst of the current economic crisis. Panorama category.
- "Under the Sky of Damascus" is a Syrian documentary directed by Heba Khaled, Talal Derky and Ali Wajih, which will be screened in the Panorama category.
- The Forum Expanded Exhibition section includes two other films, "Comrade leader, comrade leader, what a pleasure to see you" directed by Lebanese Walid Raad; and "On this shore, here" by Egyptian visual artist and director Yasmina Metwally.
