The 35th edition of the Marathon of the Sands will take place from October 1 to 11 after 2 years of postponement (Covid-19).

Organized under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, this edition, will welcome 750 competitors from more than 40 different nationalities.

Despite its name, it’s not a marathon but +200km (125 miles) race with 6 stages, including an 80 km non-stop stage. The race takes places in the Sahara Desert which adds two difficulties: heat and sands. Runners must be self-sufficient, which means that they have to carry their food, stove, clothe, sleeping bag and survival kit.
