The Palestinian city hosted a symposium on a book published last year that presents the testimony of ten former Palestinian women prisoners who were incarcerated in Israeli jails. The writers were gathered for this occasion, and shared their experiences directly with the public, recalling their physical and mental resistance, the weight of post-release imprisonment, etc. They also exchanged views on the process of liberation and on the role of the state in this process. They also discussed the writing process.
The symposium was held in connection with the 51st session of the Permanent Arab Commission for Human Rights, which will be held in Morocco on 6 and 7 February, and whose agenda includes the condition of Arab prisoners in Israeli jails.
