The museum officially reopened its doors to the public on 14 September, after two years of closure. To date, it has welcomed almost 2,700 visitors, both Tunisian and foreign, according to the Ministry of Cultural Affairs. The inauguration ceremony for the new building was attended by some thirty ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions in Tunisia.
