Organised from 28 May to 4 June, this edition was marked by the tribute paid to the Moroccan actor and director Mohamed Choubi, who received the Festival's badge from the hands of the president of the FICAK Foundation, El Habib El Malki.
Burkina Faso's cinema was the guest of honour at the 22nd edition of the FICAK (28 May - 4 June 2022) in Khouribga under the high patronage of King Mohammed VI. Five films by renowned Burkina Faso filmmakers were screened on this occasion.
The winners from the Arab countries:
- The Jury Award (fiction section), named after the late Noureddine Saïl, was won by the film "I'll go to hell" by Tunisian director Ismahane Lahmar ;
- The Idrissa Ouédraogo prize for directing went to the Egyptian director Magdi Ahmed Ali for "In, 2 Talaat Harb";
- The Jury's Special Mention went to the film "In, 2 Talaat Harb" by Magdi Ahmed Ali and to Moroccan actor Mohamed Tsouli for his role in "Apple trees' autumn";
- The Jury's Special Mention for Documentary Film went to the short film "Broken Mirrors" by Othmane Saâdouni (Morocco).
