“Painters of the Arab World” is supposed to be a series of three volumes.
The first one, "The Conquerors", will soon be followed by "The Adventurers" and then by a final part dedicated to young Arab artists.
With this series, Farouk Youssef has planned to create an encyclopedia focusing on the Arabic plastic art movement since its emergence in the nineteenth century.
For this first volume, Sheikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Center for Culture and Research, based in Manama, contributed to providing the author archives and documents.
Five years of research were needed to realize this first volume, a 600-page book including photographs.
