Death of Abderraouf.

The actor Abderrahim Tounsi, aka Abderraouf, died at the age of 87. Born in Casablanca in 1939, he joined the resistance movement in 1953. He was imprisoned by the colonial authorities for a year and discovered his passion for theatre in detention. The "national Charlot" who marked several generations of Moroccans thanks to his democratised humour and burlesque character was named "Best Moroccan humorist of the 20th century" in Antwerp in 2011 by the Arab Humour Nights Foundation. In 2016, a vibrant tribute was paid to him at the Marrakech International Film Festival and the film "Mon oncle" by Nassim Abassi in which he plays the main character was screened out of competition.
