"Danser, c'est pas pour nous" (Dancing is not for us)

This is the title of the new solo choreography by Omar Rajeh, assisted by Mia Habis, at the Monnot theatre in Beirut from 8 to 10 June. This sentence was said over and over by the artist's parents, questioning the legitimacy of the dance profession and its reality.

"The performance looks back at our career as dancers in Lebanon, drawing on our experiences and our past. What motivated us to dance from a very young age in a country that had no infrastructure, no support? It's a piece of our history and our long journey strewn with obstacles: the Maqamat dance company, the Bipod contemporary dance festival, the Citerne performance space, the creations, the tours...". - Mia Habis in an interview published by L'Orient-le-Jour.

The show will soon be touring Europe.
