The photographer publishes a book of photographs, divided in four chapters, immortalising with her lens the Lebanese capital and its inhabitants, describing Beirut as a timeless place where "there is always life".
After spending most of her life abroad, Marie-Noëlle Fattal returned to Lebanon in 2012. In addition to her job as a communicator, she published in 2017 a first book of photographs entitled "Beirut Footsteps". Then, in her exhibition "Ephemera" in December 2020, she continued to focus on Beirut's daily life. Finally, in 2021 and 2022, she participated in the group exhibition "Beirut photo". "Beirutins, beirutis, bayarita" is her second photo book.
From Verdun Street to the Geïtaoui district, passing through Saifi, Gemmayzé, Tabaris, Achrafieh, and Karm el-Zeytoun, she captures with her camera the artisans and shopkeepers, as well as the iconic places of these neighbourhoods (e.g. the Mitri ice cream shop).
"I chose the itinerary according to what touches me in the city, these are the areas I travel to the most and then, there is an aesthetic environment which the photographer's eye cannot miss." Marie-Noëlle Fattal for the newspaper L'Orient-le-Jour.
