"Bending Toward the Sun", Yazan Abu Salameh's online solo exhibition.

The Zawieh gallery, in Ramallah, gives the opportunity to visit in 3D and online the solo exhibition of Palestinian artist Yazan Abu Salameh, from June 30 to July 30. Abu Salameh's recent art series are inspired by the novel "Men in the Sun" by deceased author Ghassan Kanafani. Just like the novel, the exhibition wants to bang on the concrete walls, crying out for justice.

Extract from the press release: “In a rare attempt to portray the Palestinian landscape, Abu Salameh draws a landscape of olive trees. In the background is a huge rock, almost as high as the sun, forming a barrier which prevents the sunlight from reaching the fields. These fields are painted in black and white (in ink) while two suns appear in the background or possibly a sun and a moon, of different sizes and colored in a deep orange. Abu Salameh's characters always look up to the sky, whether confined between walls or standing in rows at checkpoints. »
