Built in 1912, the Sursock Museum is a true monument of Lebanese heritage. Since 1961, its mission is to collect, preserve and exhibit local and international artists to the public. Profoundly damaged by the explosion of August 4, 2020, the restoration work should be completed for a forthcoming opening, around the summer of 2023. Parts of the villa and its iconic stained glass windows were destroyed and the 30 works of art on display at the time of the explosion were also damaged.
