"Al Firdaus Ensemble" and its Sufi music concerts

The music group gave a concert at the National Library of the Kingdom of Morocco in Rabat on 6 April. The event was organised by the Cervantes Institute as part of the Ramadan Nights concert series, which runs from 4 to 15 April in nine Moroccan cities.

The Al Firdaus Ensemble was founded in 2012 in Granada by English violinist and singer Ali Keeler with artists from Spain, Morocco and Venezuela. The group performs a repertoire of songs drawn from the heritage of the Sufi tradition, from Arabic, Andalusian and Turkish sources. The Arabic lyrics of its songs come from the poetry of some of the Sufi masters of Al-Andalus and the Arab world such as Ibn Arabi and Al Shushtari.

Al Firdaus Ensemble has participated in several international festivals in Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, England, Bosnia, the United States, Canada, Morocco, Algeria, Lebanon and Malaysia.
