Written and directed by Bassel Ghandour, " The Alleys" competes for Sutherland Award among other 7 films from around the world, at the 65th BFI London Film Festival (October 6 – 10).

The festival promotes imaginative first movies.

In Jordan's history, only Naji Abu Nowar's "Theeb" was nominated and won BAFTA Award for Best British Debut.
