Jordanian student Abdullah Abu Khalaf is the new champion of the 2020 Arab Reading Challenge which took place in the United Arab Emirates.

The seventeen-year-old student was awarded 500 000 dirhams for winning this 5th edition. Sheikh Mohammed ben Rachid Al Maktoum attended the Award ceremony.

The young talent was followed by Moroccan student Sarah Al Daeef, Saudi Diaa Al Qaisum, Sudanese Youssra Mohammed Al Imam and Egyptian Abdul Rahman Mansour Ahmed Mohammed.

The competition gathered 21 millions participants from 52 countries.

Organized since 2015 as part of the Mohammed Ben Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, the Arab Reading Challenge aims at promoting Arab culture and literature.
