The town will host the event from 3 to 8 October, which is getting ready to celebrate its twelfth edition organised by the Ministry of Agriculture, Sea Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, as well as the trade fair association. The 2023 theme is "Generation Green: new horizons for the development of date palms and the sustainability of oases".
According to the government's Generation Green strategy, nearly five million date palm seedlings should be planted by 2030. This will promote entrepreneurship among young people and cooperatives, and modernise production and distribution channels.
Spread over an area of 40,000 m, this year's show will see the participation of some 230 exhibitors from the key players in the sector. The programme also includes educational and fun activities, demonstration workshops, tasting sessions and prize-giving ceremonies.
