Naji al-Ali's work will be published in Italy for the first time, thirty-five years after his assassination.

The character of Handala, a young child turning his back to the world remains a symbol of Palestinian identity and resistance.

Al-Ali, who died after being shot outside the London office of Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Qabas in 1987, had vowed that Handala would only reveal his face to readers when Palestinian refugees will return to their homeland.

The new book will be presented on February 24 at Café Arabo, in collaboration with Handala Ali Cultural Center in Naples.
