Myrath, the Tunisian group is at the Sweden Rock festival

The festival in southern Sweden celebrated its thirtieth anniversary from 7 to 10 June 2023, with more than ninety metal bands, including an Arab group, Myrath.

Born in 2001 in Tunisia under the name of Xtazy, Myrath is an Arabic word for "heritage", offering metal with an oriental flavour. Zaher Zorgati, the band's lead singer since 2007, hails from Sousse and has a degree in graphic design. He took part in the sixth edition of the Lebanese Star Academy broadcast by LBCI.

Guitarist Malek Ben Arbia, from Ezzahra (south of Tunis), is the group's founder and the only survivor of the original line-up. He was joined in 2006 by bassist Anis Jouini, born in Clermont-Ferrand. Two Frenchmen then joined the project: keyboardist Kevin Codfert, born in Nice and also a member of the French progressive metal band Adagio; and drummer Morgan Berthet from Chambéry, who has several collaborations to his credit as a professional musician.

The band has already released five albums, and has a clear musical identity: Blazing Desert Metal. Considered champions of their category in Tunisia, the band has already been invited to perform at the Carthage International Festival, one of the oldest and best-known in the Arab world. This year, they will be performing at the French metal festival Hellfest.
