"I know that a bookshop doesn't make money, but I don't care. This will be the bookshop of our dreams."

Selling left-wing books in a right-wing neighbourhood is Ramdane Touhami's new project. Located in the Vanneau street in the 7th arrondissement of the French capital, the bookshop is a former pharmacy, called "The Pharmacy of the Souls". The catalogue of the bookseller, who is also the director of an art agency specialised in architecture and photography, pays tribute to authors who are deeply involved in social struggles, whether they be related to gender, racism or class. Angela Davis, Eldridge Cleaver, Edouard Glissant, Maryse Condé, Diaty Diallo, ...

Ramdane Touhami wants to make this library a springboard for new publishing houses and young authors. Each month, a new emerging publishing house will be featured. He also wants the bookshop to host a number of international artistic works, to create a podcast or a literary programme on YouTube.
