"The Guardians of the Dead Sea", a documentary transcending borders.

To protest against political inaction, three men from three historically hostile countries decided to alert public opinion together. Oded Rahav, an Israeli activist, Munqeth Mehyar, a Jordanian environmentalist, and Yusuf Matari, a Palestinian lifeguard, will attempt to do what has never been done before: swim across the Dead Sea from Jordan to Israel with a group of international swimmers. This documentary follows closely their training in this water whose buoyancy is rendered unusual by its salinity. But it also gives an account of the challenges they have to face: overcoming reticence, prejudice and transnational resentment, but also (and above all) obtaining government authorisations from three states and two armies. A symbolic crossing, well beyond borders, which aims as much to save a sea as to revive the hope of living together.
