Al Hosn Festival, Abu Dhabi becomes an open-air museum.

Al Hosn Festival is being held in Abu Dhabi from 13 to 22 January. It takes place at Qasr Al Hosn, the Artisans' House and the Cultural Foundation, with performances, art exhibitions, traditional markets, family workshops and more. Organised by the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism, the event celebrates the history and culture of the UAE.

With traditional Emirati weddings, camel rides, concerts and local handicrafts, the district turns into an ode to the country during the festival. There are also works of art displayed in the neighbourhood, transforming the city into an open-air museum.

For example, "7 Pillars" by artist Fatima Abdulrahman is an installation composed of seven Plexiglas columns, all filled with sand or stones, recalling the desert mirage specific to the Emirates.
