"Scattered Barriers": the first Omani series on Netflix.

Scheduled to air on January 12, the Omani series stars local artists Amina Abdel Rasoul, Ibrahim al-Zadjali, Essam al-Zadjali, Balqis al-Balushi and Raed al-Ameri, as well as Emirati actress Salama al-Mazrouei.\

The series is directed by award-winning director Abdelbary Adulkhair - known for shows such as 'Dreams Drawn by Dust' and 'Al-Hasan and Al-Husein' - and shot by cinematographer Susan Lumsdon.

The six-part series is set in Oman, although filmed in Al-Ain (United Arab Emirates). It follows the journey of Nasser, a taxi driver who denies the reality of the Covid-19 pandemic, until the disease takes his mother's life.
