A recent ministerial decree protects eighteen new monuments in eleven governorates. Here is the list:
18 historical and archaeological monuments in 11 governorates (Tunis, Ben Arous, Bizerte, Béja, Zaghouan, Kairouan, Sidi Bouzid, Gafsa, Sousse, Gabès and Kébili) listed below:
Governorate of Tunis :
- The headquarters of the Tunis transport company
- The headquarters of the Ministry of Finance located at the Kasbah Square
- The religious complex of Sidi Bou Saïd
Governorate of Ben Arous :
- The villa known as Dar Chnik and its garden
- The defensive monument at Radès
Governorate of Bizerte :
- The old railway station of Sejnane
Governorate of Béja :
- Djebel Gorâa in Djebba
- Ksar Ouled Debbab
- The Roman baths of Henchir Matria
- The megalithic necropolis of Guaren El Kabech in Dougga
Governorate of Zaghouan :
- The Bourguiba Palace in Beni Darraj
Governorate of Kairouan :
- The site of the rock paintings of Aïn El-Khanfous
Governorate of Sidi Bouzid :
- The ancient hydraulic diversion work of Wadi Haddaj
Governorate of Gafsa :
- The troglodyte caves of Jebel Sned
Governorate of Sousse :
- The hydraulic basins of El Majel Lazreg
