Initially scheduled for October 2021, the festival is delayed because of Covid-19 pandemic. It will take place from January 11 to 18, in the town of Akbou. The theme remains "Theatre in all its forms"
The play "Yemma N Dzair" (My mother Algeria) will open the festival, with the Takerbouste theater troupe, which won Batna National Amazigh Theatre Festival Award .
The play tells the story of a disconsolate mother, traumatised by the mysterious death of her child in prison.
The festival welcomes seven troupes from Burkina Faso, Egypt, Italy, Russia, Senegal and Tunisia.
Training workshops on theatrical techniques are given, as well as conferences tackling the festival's theme.
