1,500 animals threatened with extinction in AlUla.

More than 1,500 endangered animals will be released in AlUla as part of the Royal Commission for AlUla's mission to reintroduce native species into their natural habitat. The animals (Arabian gazelles, sand gazelles, Arabian oryx, Nubian ibex) will be dispersed in three of AlUla's nature reserves: Sharaan, Wadi Nakhlah and Al-Gharameel. The expected reintegration of the critically endangered Arabian leopard is planned for 2030.

Through these various initiatives, the AlUla Commission wishes to position itself at the forefront of cultural and natural heritage protection.
