The Qal'at al-Bahrain Museum hosted on 15 February a lecture on "The Role of Byzantine Coins in the Development of Arab-Islamic Coins" by Professor Muhammad Hakim Al-Aradi. The first part of the conference focused on a general overview of Arab-Byzantine relations before, during and after the advent of Islam, while the second part highlighted the Byzantine currencies that circulated in Arab countries. The third part was dedicated to the Islamic monetary reform.
