Punic and Carthaginian cisterns found in Rades Church

Excavations on the site of the church of Rades carried out by the National Heritage Institute have led to the discovery of cisterns dating from the Punic and Carthaginian periods.

The research team of the National Heritage Institute, under the scientific supervision of researcher Nizar Ben Slimane, embarked last December on a rescue excavation following the archaeological discovery of several Roman cisterns, which may be part of the monuments of the Roman city of Maxula.
